Faculty Workshop Development and Delivery
instructional designer facilitated professional workshops
During my professional career, I have designed, developed and delivered a number of training workshops via Zoom, all aimed at providing faculty with a greater understanding of the technological systems at their disposal. To ensure these workshops both effectively engaged and educated faculty, I designed them to alternate between more traditional presentation-style content and realistic use-case-scenario framed walkthroughs. While most of these trainings were focused on elements of the Canvas LMS, two from the New York Institute of Technology were centered on the Windows 11 operating system. These workshops were designed and delivered on a weekly basis for several months in perpetration for a university wide mandated update to Windows 11. Furthermore, I created video versions of these training experiences, utilizing Adobe Premiere Pro, which were publicly available via YouTube for those who couldn’t attend the workshops.
Workshop Topics:
•Communicating With Students in Canvas
•Sharing Files Through OneDrive: The Fundamentals (video only training)
•Easy Gradebook Management in Canvas
•Quizzes in Canvas
•Collaboration and Group Work in Canvas
•Overview of Canvas Settings
•Introduction to Windows 11
•Personalizing Windows 11
